Aside from the Dior Addict Ultra Glosses, there haven't been any "wow" moments for me, with any other Dior lip products. This particular lipstick was a total surprise. It's from the new Addict Extreme range, which looks Grandma in the tube, party on the lips.
I would describe 316 Incognito as a slightly mauve-toned, natural nude. It's kind of like MAC Blankety, but sheer and not gross looking (sorry, if you love Blankety). It's the perfect color when you want a little something demure and sophisticated, but nothing particularly noticeable/obvious. The texture is so smooth and creamy, without sliding all over the place.
If I had any cautionary words going into this lipstick range, it would be to be ("be to be"?? ..whatever) aware that a lot of the shades within the Addict Extremes are quite sheer. Some of the brighter shades, like Riviera and Lucky, look fun and intense in the tube, but too transparent and lack-lustre on le trap (from my experience).

yay im not alone! i fuckin hate blankety with a passion that consumes my very being every time i look at the tube. im hoping someone just steals it form my collection one day..
ReplyDeletePretty! This one looks great on you. :) I looked at some of these in Sephora yesterday but missed this one. I took home "Cherie Bow." Not sure I made the right choice though... You're right they are all pretty sheer and with these you really have to try them on to see the true color - I was surprised how they look a little different in the tube than on the lips!

Ooooh this is so pretty! I like that you say that it doesn't "slide around" because that's what I find is the problem with the Dior Addict Lipsticks in general (still love them though). The color of Incognito really suits you. I'm really going to have to get a few of these!

For some reason, Incognito just didn't pull rosy at all on me, as it seems to do on your (gloriously dazzling) lips. I really love the Dior Addict Extreme formula - I wish there were more "me" shades! I do need a back-up of Saint Tropez, though, stat.

ReplyDeleteI'm stunned, it looks totally different on you than me! lol I can get away with wearing 1 coat of it, more and it makes me have corpse lips. Bellisima is a nice hot color that I think is great.
